Texas High School Basketball - Covington thwarts Mount Calm

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Covington Owls (Covington, TX) and the visiting Mount Calm (Mount Calm, TX), observed Covington's basketball team knock off Mount Calm by a score of 49-35.

The Owls (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Irion County (Mertzon, TX). The Hornets come into the non-league challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Irion County prevailed over Ozona (Ozona, TX), 64-41, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the encounter the Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 14. Mount Calm will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 39-33 non-league loss to Bartlett (Bartlett, TX).
