The Staunton River Golden Eagles basketball team scored 70 points and limited the host Craig County Rockets to 34 in the Golden Eagles non-league triumph on Friday.

The Golden Eagles now have a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Northside for a Blue Ridge game on Tuesday, December 17. Staunton River will confront a Vikings team coming off a 80-66 non-league win over Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Craig County falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA) to confront the Mustangs in a Pioneer game on Monday, December 16. The Mustangs go into the game with a record of 2-3. Eastern Montgomery won 53-29 in their recent non-league game against Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA)
