The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) and the host Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR), observed Rector's basketball team knock off Cross County by a score of 84-65.

The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Corning (Corning, AR). The Bobcats come into the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 4-7 record. In their last challenge, Corning prevailed over Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR), 52-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds encounter the Bay Yellowjackets (Bay, AR) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Cross County will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 84-38 league win over Piggott (Piggott, AR).
