In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Elverado Falcons basketball team scored a big 49-28 triumph over the Shawnee Redskins.

The Falcons (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Century (Ullin, IL). The Centurions go into the South Egyptian contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Century was trounced by Galatia (Galatia, IL), 64-54, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Redskins confront the Meridian Bobcats (Mounds, IL) in a South Egyptian contest, on Monday, December 16. Shawnee will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Bobcats go into the contest with a 5-3 record after their 72-61 non-league loss to Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL).
