The Mecklenburg County Phoenix basketball squad (Baskerville, VA), was outscored 72-56 in Friday's league battle with the visiting George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA)

With the victory, George Washington advances its record to 4-0 on the year. The Eagles travel to Fleming (Roanoke, VA) to meet the Colonels in a non-league battle on Saturday, December 14. The Colonels enter the battle with a record of 2-1. Fleming lost 65-53 in their recent non-league battle against Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA)

The Phoenix now own a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson Forest for a non-league battle on Monday, January 6.
