The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) and the host Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS), observed Quitman's basketball team knock off Wayne County by a score of 50-35.

The Panthers (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Laurel (Laurel, MS). The Golden Tornadoes come into the non-league challenge with a 7-5 record. In their last challenge, Laurel prevailed over Gautier (Gautier, MS), 53-50, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the War Eagles encounter the East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS) in a 5A Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Wayne County will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 68-50 non-league loss to Chickasaw (Chickasaw, AL).
