The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) and the host Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), observed Amarillo's basketball team overwhelm Lubbock by a score of 57-22.

The Sandies (16-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Rebels come into the 5A Region I District 3 challenge with a 16-2 record. In their last challenge, Tascosa trounced Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 61-60, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Westerners encounter the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Lubbock will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record.
