The Eagles (1-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Mae Jemison (Huntsville, AL). The Jaguars come into the 6A Area 16 challenge with a 8-8 record. In their last challenge, Mae Jemison was knocked off by Sparkman (Harvest, AL), 59-41, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Golden Eagles encounter the Florence Falcons (Florence, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 14. Athens will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 55-50 league loss to Bob Jones (Madison, AL).
