In Friday's league contest, the visiting Sigourney Savages basketball team scored a close 46-43 win over the English Valleys Bears.
The Savages (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Cardinal (Eldon, IA). The Comets come into the non-league contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Cardinal was tipped by Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA), 73-26, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bears encounter the Lone Tree Lions (Lone Tree, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 14. English Valleys will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 71-32 league win over Wapello (Wapello, IA).
