Virginia High School Basketball - George Wythe knocks off Galax

In Friday's league contest, the visiting George Wythe Maroons basketball team scored a good 67-59 win over the Galax Maroon Tide.
The Maroons (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans come into the Mountain Empire contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Giles dropped by Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA), 54-24, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Maroon Tide battle the Chilhowie Warriors (Chilhowie, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 16. Galax will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Warriors come into the contest with a 0-3 record after their 46-33 non-league loss to Marion (Marion, VA).
