In Friday's league contest, the host Gardiner Tigers basketball team scored a good 43-34 win over the Skowhegan River Hawks.

The Tigers (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Nokomis (Newport, ME). The Warriors come into the A North contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Nokomis defeated Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME), 48-23, in a non-league battle.

The River Hawks now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Camden Hills for a A North battle on Tuesday, December 17. Skowhegan will meet a Windjammers squad coming off a 49-41 non-league win over Oceanside (Rockland, ME). The Windjammers record now stands at 4-0.
