The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Standley Lake Gators (Westminster, CO) and the visiting Colorado Academy Mustangs (Denver, CO), witnessed Standley Lake's ice hockey team defeat Colorado Academy by a final score of 9-1.

The Gators (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado Springs, CO). The Red-Tailed Hawks come into the 4A North challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Cheyenne Mountain ran past Mullen (Denver, CO), 9-1, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Liberty Lancers (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 14. Colorado Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 10-1 league win over Woodland Park (Woodland Park, CO).
