Fans at Friday's league battle between the Vancleave Bulldogs (Vancleave, MS) and the host Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS), saw Vancleave's soccer squad hold off Laurel by a count of 1-0.

The Bulldogs (1-8) will now prepare for their battle against East Central (Moss Point, MS). The Hornets enter the 5A Region 4 battle with a 7-4 record. In their last battle, East Central tipped Gautier (Gautier, MS), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes battle the North Forrest Eagles (Hattiesburg, MS) in a non-league battle, on Monday, December 16. Laurel will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 5-4 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Sacred Heart (Hattiesburg, MS).
