Virginia High School Basketball - Orange County holds off Monticello

December 14, 2021: Charlottesville, VA 22902

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) and the host Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), saw Orange County's basketball squad hold off Monticello by a tally of 3-0.

With the victory, Orange County improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Fighting Hornets travel to Louisa County (Mineral, VA) to confront the Lions in a Jefferson challenge on Thursday, December 16. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Louisa County won 55-32 in their recent league challenge against Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA)

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Friday, December 17. Monticello will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 44-37 non-league win over Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, VA).
