Middle College Bulldogs (Memphis, TN) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Melrose Golden Wildcats (Memphis, TN), 57-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Middle College upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering (Memphis, TN) to play the Phoenix in a 1A District 15 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Phoenix go into the bout with a record of 7-2.

Next up, the Golden Wildcats play the Memphis Central Warriors (Memphis, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Melrose will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 57-54 non-league loss to North Little Rock (North Little Rock, AR).
