Tishomingo County Braves (Iuka, MS) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS), 53-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Tishomingo County upgrades its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Braves host Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS) to play the Bearcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 17. The Bearcats come into the bout with a record of 8-0. Baldwyn won 47-20 in their recent non-league bout against Falkner (Falkner, MS)

Next up, the Troopers play the Shannon Red Raiders (Shannon, MS) in a 4A Region 1 bout, on Friday, December 16. Mooreville will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Red Raiders come into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 50-48 league win over Corinth (Corinth, MS).
