South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC), 61-28 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South Stokes upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Sauras host East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Friday, December 16. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 4-1. East Wilkes won 42-39 in their recent non-league bout against West Iredell (Statesville, NC)

Next up, the Phoenix play the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders (High Point, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. McMichael will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Red Raiders come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 50-45 non-league loss to Ben L. Smith (Greensboro, NC).
