Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Obama Academy of International Studies Eagles (Pittsburgh, PA), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Aliquippa upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Quips travel to Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a record of 4-0. Mt. Lebanon won 69-47 in their recent non-league bout against Chartiers Valley (Bridgeville, PA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Girard Yellowjackets (Girard, PA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Obama Academy of International Studies will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
