Bowie Bulldogs (Bowie, MD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD), 66-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Bowie upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Archbishop Carroll (Washington, DC) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-4. Archbishop Carroll won 71-52 in their recent non-league bout against Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Wise Pumas (Upper Marlboro, MD) in a Prince George's County 4A bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Laurel will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Pumas go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 71-43 league win over Suitland (Forestville, MD).
