Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Mercer Tigers (Mercer, WI) and the visiting Butternut Midgets (Butternut, WI), saw Mercer's basketball squad overcome Butternut by a tally of 66-48.

With the victory, Mercer improves its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Drummond (Drummond, WI) to play the Lumberjacks in a Northern Lights challenge on Friday, December 15. The Lumberjacks come into the challenge with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Midgets play the Solon Springs Eagles (Solon Springs, WI) in a Northern Lights challenge, on Monday, December 18. Butternut will attempt to improve on its 0-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-0 record after their 82-45 league win over Washburn (Washburn, WI).
