The Myrtle Hawks basketball team (Myrtle, MS), was overwhelmed 85-28 in Thursday's league battle with the host Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS)
The Lions now possess a 10-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jumpertown for a 1A Region 2 battle on Tuesday, December 19. Byers will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 94-43 non-league loss to New Site (New Site, MS). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-10.
The Hawks (2-14) will now prepare for their battle against East Union (Blue Springs, MS). The Urchins come into the non-league battle with a 3-6 record. In their last battle, East Union was overwhelmed by Belmont (Belmont, MS), 62-50, in a non-league battle.
