The Cumberland Clippers basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the host Cranston East Thunderbolts to 44 in the Clippers league victory on Thursday.

The Clippers now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bishop Hendricken for a Division 1 contest on Monday, December 18. Cumberland will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 59-55 league win over Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI). The Hawks record now stands at 2-0.

Next up, the Thunderbolts play the Scituate Spartans (North Scituate, RI) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. Cranston East will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 67-36 league loss to Blackstone Valley Prep (Cumberland, RI).
