The Mankato East Cougars basketball team scored 99 points and restricted the visiting New Ulm Eagles to 69 in the Cougars league victory on Thursday.

The Cougars now sport a 5-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Century for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 19. Mankato East will battle a Panthers team coming off a 81-74 non-league loss to Northfield (Northfield, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 2-2.

The Eagles (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Marshall (Marshall, MN). The Tigers come into the AAA Section 2 contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Marshall was routed by Mankato West (Mankato, MN), 72-51, in a league battle.
