Palm Valley FIREBIRDS (Rancho Mirage, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Weaver Monarchs (Murrieta, CA), 2-0 in a league bout.

With the victory, Palm Valley upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The FIREBIRDS host Noli Indian (San Jacinto, CA) to play the Braves in a Victory bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Braves come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Monarchs play the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs (Riverside, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. Weaver will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Cubs come into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 54-51 league loss to Sherman Indian (Riverside, CA).
