The Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) basketball felled the host Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL), 43-33 in Thursday's league test.
The Wildcats (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL). The Hiltoppers go into the non-league test with a 6-5 record. In their last test, Hillsboro thwarted Litchfield (Litchfield, IL), 49-24, in a league test.
The Midgets now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Breese Central for a Cahokia - Mississippi test on Monday, December 18. Freeburg will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 40-37 non-league loss to Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 8-1.
