Wagener-Salley War Eagles (Wagener, SC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Horse Creek Academy Stallions (Aiken, SC), 57-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wagener-Salley upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The War Eagles host Calhoun County (St. Matthews, SC) to play the Saints in a A Region 4 bout on Friday, December 15. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Calhoun County won 37-28 in their recent league bout against North (North, SC)

Next up, the Stallions play the Pelion Panthers (Pelion, SC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Horse Creek Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record.
