Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Hunterdon Eagles (Lambertville, NJ), 40-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Somerville upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Pioneers host Manville (Manville, NJ) to play the Mustangs in a Skyland - Mountain bout on Thursday, January 4. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 1-1.

Next up, the Eagles play the Hamilton Hornets (Hamilton, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. South Hunterdon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 26-12 non-league loss to Steinert (Hamilton, NJ).
