In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Merryville Panthers basketball team scored a good 61-51 triumph over the Oberlin Tigers.

The Panthers (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Westlake (Westlake, LA). The Rams go into the non-league contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Westlake topped Hathaway (Jennings, LA), 73-47, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers confront the Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, December 16. Oberlin will attempt to better on its 0-9 season record. The Crusaders go into the contest with a 1-5 record after their 82-80 non-league win over Ascension Christian (Gonzales, LA).
