Avon Grove Red Devils (West Grove, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bishop Shanahan Eagles (Downingtown, PA), 80-77 in a league bout.

With the win, Avon Grove upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Red Devils travel to Downingtown West (Downingtown, PA) to play the Whippets in a Ches-Mont - National bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Whippets go into the bout with a record of 3-2.

Next up, the Eagles play the Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic Friars/Pandas (Drexel Hill, PA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Bishop Shanahan will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Friars/Pandas go into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 62-56 non-league win over Math Civics & Sciences (Philadelphia, PA).
