In Thursday's non-league outing, the Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA) basketball squad beat the host Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA), by a count of 58-50.
The Eagles (6-1) will now prepare for their outing against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets go into the non-league outing with a 2-5 record. In their last outing, Halifax County was topped by Person (Roxboro, NC), 70-57, in a non-league outing.
The Bengals now hold a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Patrick County for a Piedmont outing on Friday, December 16. Bassett will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 64-54 non-league win over Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 4-3.
