Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Liberty Patriots (Issaquah, WA), 63-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mercer Island upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Islanders host South Kitsap (Port Orchard, WA) to play the Wolves in a non-league bout on Monday, December 19. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 1-5. South Kitsap lost 56-38 in their recent league bout against Sumner (Sumner, WA)

Next up, the Patriots play the Kent-Meridian Royals (Kent, WA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Royals come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 66-54 non-league win over Lindbergh (Renton, WA).
