The Somerville Pioneers basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Warren Hills Regional Blue Streaks to 40 in the Pioneers non-league victory on Thursday.
The Pioneers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Roxbury for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 17. Somerville will battle a Gaels team coming off a 51-36 league loss to Morris Hills (Rockaway, NJ). The Gaels record now stands at 0-1.
The Blue Streaks (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Bound Brook (Bound Brook, NJ). The Crusaders come into the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Bound Brook edged The Pingry School (Martinsville, NJ), 62-61, in a league contest.
