Rector Cougars (Rector, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Buffalo Island Central Mustangs (Monette, AR), 57-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Rector upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Cougars host East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR) to clash with the Warriors in a 2A Region 3 bout on Monday, December 19. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 6-6. East Poinsett County won 58-49 in their recent non-league bout against Izard County (Brockwell, AR)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Riverview Raiders (Searcy, AR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Buffalo Island Central will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record.
