Grant Park Dragons (Grant Park, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL), 45-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Grant Park upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Dragons travel to Tri-Point (Cullom, IL) to play the Chargers in a River Valley bout on Monday, January 2. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 6-6.

Next up, the Comets play the Beecher Bobcats (Beecher, IL) in a River Valley bout, on Monday, December 19. Clifton Central will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 57-52 league loss to Donovan/St. Anne (Donovan, IL).
