McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions face the Oak Ridge Trojans (El Dorado Hills, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 16. McClatchy will attempt to better on its 3-2 season record. The Trojans enter the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Vista del Lago (Folsom, CA).

The Mustangs now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host McClatchy for a challenge on Tuesday, January 24.
