Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Crystal Lake South Gators (Crystal Lake, IL) and the visiting Cary-Grove Trojans (Cary, IL), witnessed Crystal Lake South's basketball squad nip Cary-Grove by a margin of 73-67.

The Gators (11-1) will now prepare for their test against Hampshire (Hampshire, IL). The Whip-Purs go into the Fox Valley test with a 6-5 record.

The Trojans now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Round Lake for a non-league test on Wednesday, December 20. Cary-Grove will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 68-9 league loss to Grayslake Central (Grayslake, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 0-10.
