Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Central Knights (Providence, RI), 63-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Smithfield upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Sentinels host Mt. Pleasant (Providence, RI) to play the Kilties in a Division 1 bout on Monday, December 18. The Kilties go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Mt. Pleasant won 58-50 in their recent league bout against Central (Providence, RI)

Next up, the Knights play the Barrington Eagles (Barrington, RI) in a Division 1 bout, on Monday, December 18. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 48-33 non-league win over Bloomfield (Bloomfield, CT).
