Cheltenham Panthers (Wyncote, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Upper Moreland Bears (Willow Grove, PA), 51-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cheltenham upgrades its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Panthers host Penn Wood (Lansdowne, PA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Penn Wood won 61-37 in their recent non-league bout against John Bartram (Philadelphia, PA)

Next up, the Bears play the New Hope-Solebury Lions (New Hope, PA) in a Suburban One - American bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Upper Moreland will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 67-22 league loss to William Tennent (Warminster, PA).
