The Maquoketa Valley Wildcats basketball team scored 58 points and held the host Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings to 36 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Linn for a Tri-Rivers contest on Tuesday, December 19. Maquoketa Valley will battle a Lynx team coming off a 102-35 league win over East Buchanan (Winthrop, IA). The Lynx record now stands at 7-0.

The Vikings (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Central (Elkader, IA). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Central was routed by Postville (Postville, IA), 54-29, in a league contest.
