Minnesota High School Basketball - Ely succumbs to Mesabi East

The Mesabi East Giants topped the host Ely Timberwolves basketball team by a final score of 63-54 in Friday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Giants face the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels (Moose Lake, MN) in a AA Section 7 battle, on Tuesday, December 19. Mesabi East will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Rebels come into the battle with a 4-1 record after their 92-56 non-league loss to Cherry (Iron, MN).
The Timberwolves (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Cook County (Grand Marais, MN). The Vikings come into the non-league battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Cook County dropped by Cromwell (Cromwell, MN), 66-63, in a league battle.
