Ewen-Trout Creek Panthers (Ewen, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ontonagon Gladiators (Ontonagon, MI), 63-60 in a league bout.

With the victory, Ewen-Trout Creek upgrades its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Johnston (Bessemer, MI) to play the Speedboys in a Freelance bout on Monday, December 18. The Speedboys come into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Gladiators play the Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Ontonagon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Gremlins come into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 58-21 league loss to Calumet (Calumet, MI).
