In Friday's non-league outing, the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a count of 77-44.
The Red Tornadoes (6-0) will now prepare for their outing against East Lincoln (Denver, NC). The Mustangs go into the 3A Western Foothills outing with a 3-4 record. In their last outing, East Lincoln smashed Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 80-37, in a non-league outing.
The Patriots now hold a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Patton for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 19. Freedom will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 64-24 league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 8-1.
