The Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), 72-67 in Friday's non-league test.
The Pirates (5-2) will now prepare for their test against Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM). The Broncos go into the non-league test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, Kirtland Central got by Window Rock (Fort Defiance, AZ), 73-54, in a non-league test.
The Chieftains now own a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Window Rock for a non-league test on Saturday, December 16. Shiprock will encounter a Fighting Scouts squad coming off a 73-54 non-league loss to Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM). The Fighting Scouts record now stands at 1-6.
