In Friday's non-league match, the host Maize South Mavericks basketball team scored a decisive 79-42 triumph over the Newton Railroaders.

In their next game, the Mavericks face the North Kansas City Hornets (North Kansas City, MO) in a non-league game, on Saturday, December 16. Maize South will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record.
