McGregor Mercuries (McGregor, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting South Ridge Panthers (Culver, MN), 64-56 in a league bout.

With the win, McGregor upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The Mercuries travel to Nashwauk-Keewatin (Nashwauk, MN) to clash with the Spartans in a A Section 7 bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Nashwauk-Keewatin won 67-54 in their recent league bout against Bigfork (Bigfork, MN)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Marshall Hilltoppers (Duluth, MN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 18. South Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
