The Mid Peninsula Wolverines basketball team (Rock, MI), was nudged 48-43 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Republic-Michigamme Hawks (Republic, MI)

The Hawks now possess a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ontonagon for a non-league battle on Thursday, December 21.

The Wolverines (1-4) will now prepare for their battle against Big Bay de Noc (Cooks, MI). The Black Bears come into the Northern Lights battle with a 5-0 record. In their last battle, Big Bay de Noc edged Mackinac Island (Mackinac Island, MI), 60-31, in a league battle.
