The Burleson Elks basketball team (Burleson, TX), was nudged 48-43 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Cleburne Yellowjackets (Cleburne, TX)
The Yellowjackets now possess a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centennial for a 5A Region I District 8 battle on Tuesday, December 19. Cleburne will battle a Spartans team coming off a 62-23 league win over Seguin (Arlington, TX). The Spartans record now stands at 14-5.
The Elks (6-8) will now prepare for their battle against Joshua (Joshua, TX). The Owls come into the 5A Region I District 8 battle with a 11-7 record. In their last battle, Joshua edged Midlothian (Midlothian, TX), 46-42, in a league battle.
