The Freedom Patriots basketball team (Morganton, NC), was nudged 60-53 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC)

The Red Tornadoes now possess a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Lincoln for a 3A Western Foothills battle on Wednesday, December 20. Hickory will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 59-48 non-league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-1.

The Patriots (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Patton (Morganton, NC). The Panthers come into the non-league battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, Patton was nudged by Polk County (Columbus, NC), 56-27, in a league battle.
