Hutto Hippos (Hutto, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Harker Heights Knights (Harker Heights, TX), 39-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hutto upgrades its record to 7-13 on the campaign. The Hippos host Temple (Temple, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 6A Region II District 12 bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 3-12. Temple lost 43-19 in their recent league bout against Midway (Waco, TX)

The Knights now own a 13-8 record. They play next when they travel to Temple for a 6A Region II District 12 test on Friday, January 5.
