North Carolina High School Basketball - Mitchell over Madison

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) and the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), saw Mitchell's basketball squad overcome Madison by a tally of 35-19.

With the victory, Mitchell improves its record to 1-4 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to confront the Warhorses in a 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Warhorses come into the challenge with a record of 1-7. Owen lost 72-46 in their recent league challenge against Draughn (Valdese, NC)

Next up, the Patriots confront the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 27. Madison will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 7-1 record after their 60-52 league win over Highlands (Highlands, NC).
